SAC Library

The SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC) has a Library for providing information and literature support to the researchers, professionals, teachers, and students from different institutions of the country, the region and beyond. The major collections of the SAC Library are on agriculture and allied subjects. Total collection of SAC Library has more than 4,200 volumes of books and 600 bound periodicals of 300 titles, annual reports and daily newspapers. The aim of selection and collection of books and journals of the SAC Library is to accumulate important information on agriculture and allied disciplines, both local and foreign, as far as the fund permits. In 2007, SAC Library has introduced Digital Audio Visual Service. The SAC Library is automated. A Bibliographic Database of all books, journals/proceeding, annual reports and Ph.D. Dissertations available in SAC Library, has been prepared in local made software. Visit www.saarcagri.net.

Library remains open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday except Friday and Saturday and other government holidays.

Library Services: Presently SAC Library renders the following information services to its in-house and institutional users:

Readers Services:

  • Books (Local and foreign);

  • Magazines (Local and foreign);
  • Newspapers (Local and foreign);
  • Reference Service
  • CD-ROM search service

Bibliographical Services: A Bibliographic Database of all journals available in SAC Library has been prepared in printed format and it is distributed among the relevant institutions in the SAARC member countries.

Current Awareness Services (CAS): Newspaper articles related to agriculture and allied subjects are provided to 100 R&D organizations of the SAARC countries. Updated information on books, journals, proceedings, annual report and monographs are provided in every quarter of the year by SAC.

Photocopy Services: Provided for necessary pages of books, journals, magazines and others Library information as per user’s requirements.

Digital Audio Visual Services: SAC Library is providing some selected digital audio-visual service for the users.
